The Vigilante Poets of Selwyn Academy

Summary:
"Witty, sarcastic Ethan and his three friends decide to take down the reality TV show, For Art's Sake, that is being filmed at their high school, the esteemed Selwyn Arts Academy, where each student is more talented than the next. While studying Ezra Pound in English class, the friends are inspired to write a vigilante long poem and distribute it to the student body, detailing the evils of For Art's Sake. But then Luke—the creative force behind the poem and leader of the anti-show movement—becomes a contestant on the nefarious show. It's up to Ethan, his two remaining best friends, and a heroic gerbil named Baconnaise to save their school. Along the way, they'll discover a web of secrets and corruption involving the principal, vice principal, and even their favorite teacher."

Comes out April 8th,2014

The coolest thing about this book is the name, the summary and Baconnaise. Now, I'm not saying it was a bad book... its just that the plot was boring. Which sucks because I think it had plenty of basis to be a an exciting.fun and edgy book. First off, there wasn't really any Vigilante Poets society. They formed a group that lasted basically like 2 pages and then PLOT TWIST <-- a="" and="" bland.="" fell="" felt="" for="" great="" in="" is="" it="" just="" myself="" nbsp="" of="" outline="" p="" plot="" quite="" short="" story="" summary.="" the="" there="" was="" which="">

To add to the bland plot the characters were pretty bland. We only knew them on the surface and never really got into what made them tick. I knew more about the characters they were investigating then themselves and although, I liked Ethan has a narrator and he seems to be a sweet boy. He is rather odd and lacking a sense of self. He felt self deprecating and it got old.  I would have rather had Elizabeth and Jackson tell the story, since they seemed more Vigilante like.

My feelings were middle of the road with The Vigilante Poets of Selwyn Acadmy. It just could of been better in my opinion. However, I don't feel like it was a waste of time to read and in a lot of ways the writing style reminded me of John Green. So I see potential to want to read more books from this author.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children (#1)

Summary:
"A horrific family tragedy sends Jacob 16 to a remote island off Wales, to the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, where he finds unusual old photographs. The children, one his grandfather, were more than peculiar, perhaps dangerous, quarantined for good reason - and maybe still alive."

What a plot, what a plot...what a unique plot.
That is all I can say.

The story obviously centers around several Characters. Jacob, his Grandfather Abe, Miss Peregrine and her Peculiar Children. Mainly, a girl names Emma. I like Jacob. I oddly like him, because their is nothing overly special about him. He knows his faults and where he can improve. However, he doesn't magical get strength for his short-comings or anything like that. Which I can respect. You don't see that enough in books. We learn about Abe more post-humously and there is still SO much more to learn about him. Miss Peregrine, is your typical matriarchal mysterious and stern headmistress and I love that about her. The peculiar children.. are just that peculiar and Emma's personality fits her talent perfecty.. a fiery temper that one.

SO unique and a great unisex read.

Slower than I expected.

My feelings about this book are so very mixed. I liked it, but I want be dying to read Hollow City. More like something I will pick up if I see it on the shelves of my library. Now that isn't saying this book is bad, it isn't by any means. I just think this is one of those books, that had SO much hype, that I built up my own expectations of the book and it just didn't live up to what I imagined it would be.

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!

Sorry! This isn't book related, but you may have seen it on my blog or twitter feed mentioned several times and well it is a HUGE part of my life, not to mention it....

That would by my Mom and I's Backpack company called AttachaPack!
For almost 5 years my Mom and I ( myself mainly for 2 years) have been developing and designing and backpack that is customize-able / personalize-able. After SEVERAL prototypes and logo changes and name changes. We have finally formed our company and we have finally LAUNCHED!

Sort Of.

We will be launching our website attachapack.com in Mid-August, but as of last night we launched out Amazon "Pop-Up" Store. That contains what we called our "ready-made" backpacks. Which are just pre-designed backpacks for you to choose from, instead of designing them yourself. Although, you most definitely still do that.

Here are Examples of WHY AttachaPack is Special and Different.

The backpacks also have safety features... such as GPS tracking and bulletproof shields. But that is all OPTIONAL.

PLEASE Check Out Our Amazon Store and Tell Everyone You Know, About Us!!! Thank You!
