I love that Sapphire Blue pretty much picks up where it left off, although the prologue threw me off slightly. Anyways, The plot of Sapphire Blue is basically the same as Ruby Red , it just thickens a little.   And as I did with Ruby Red, I enjoyed the plot. However, I think Gier has a slightly different way of writing plots. She doesn't really stop at a cliff hanger, she just pauses at what she feels is a good spot and continues on in the the next book. It doesn't bother me, but it does make me want MORE when reading.

I love Gwen, she has just the right of confidence and insecurities.. as well as wit. Then there is Gideon, who I will admit I have a MAJOR crush on, but there is something I don't trust about him. I am loving the addition of Xemerius the Gargoyle as I think he adds the right assistance and humor to the story.

Not  a long enough book in my opinion.

Since this is a trilogy, I am hoping Emerald Green is a HUGE action packed, answering giving book! I know not everyone has been smitten with this trilogy as I have BUT if you love books that have history in them and you love books with Time Traveling and magic, then you really can't go wrong. Sapphire Blue was a great companion of Ruby Red and like I said I cannot wait for Emerald Green.

I absolutely LOVED Ruby Red and Cannot wait to revisit Gwen and Gideon! My only complaint is although, the cover is pretty, it is not cohesive with Ruby Red's cover.

When I saw the cover (not this cover) at Target, I was Sold on wanting to read this book.

Plot: I LOVE this plot! I love  the unique-ness, the time traveling, the history! I just love it, and this was just a build up plot, yet it managed to still be slightly thrilling. While leaving SO much up to the next books in the series! Obsessed!
Characters: I really like these characters a lot. Gwenyth comes of as a normal girl, who has some special qualities about her, but other then that she is typical, then she has he best friend Lesley, whose personalities compliment each other well. Gideon is slighty older and completely swoon-worthy, with a touch of arrogance to him, but not that makes you dislike him in the slightest.
Pros: Time Traveling!, Hard To Put Down, mysterious,
Cons: Wish it was just a tad bit longer, but I understand why it ended where it did.
Final Thoughts: I was surprised with how little action this book had, but being able to still keep me enthralled in the story. I just can't even begin where to start on this book. It would make a great movie/movies. Gier writes in a total relate-able fashion, that had me laughing and just wanting to know more about the mystery. I did like that this was the build up book. Usually, authors will put a lot of effort into the 1st book to make it action packed and thrilling, so that you will want to read the series and then they make the next books in the series the slower paced books, that explain why all the action happened in the first book and will be happening in the next books. I call them build up books. But this book, took the time to explain all that now, while still remaining entertaining.  I am interested in seeing if some of the things Gier mentioned in the book were irrelevant to the story or will be brought back up in the series. She seems to me to be someone who would make every detail count... I would recommend this book to the mystery,history, time travel lover. It is that perfect different book.

Being that I am a history nerd this definitely strikes me as a book that is right up my ally, with the whole time traveling thing and then it brings in a mystery element to it with the question of why her mom hid her birth date. Tons of Potential.

 Uhm, I absolutely adore when authors take classic stories and give them a twist. But I am pretty sure this is one of the biggest twists/re-tellings of this story I have heard of and it sounds kick-ass! I want this book immediately!
