The crossover I didn't know HOW bad I wanted until I discovered it was available! Carter did an awesome job combining the two worlds and sustaining my love of these characters. As everyone else has said, my only problem with this was that it was TOO short. Granted it was a Novella, I think she could have squeezed a few more pages out of it. And Can I just say W.W. Hale, man oh man do I heart you! Overall Bravo to Ms. Ally Carter.

1. My Grandma Thomas Forcing Me To Read With Her-

At the time I did not appreciate it, but now that my Grandma has passed I do truly cherish her attempts to get me to enjoy reading a book.

2. Barnes and Noble-

This is a great memory for me at any moment, since I love B&N, but when I was little I loved it even more because it was this huge magical place where I could just let my imagination go wild.

3. Harry Potter-

Being introduced to the books and my mom pre-ordering them for me every year, So that I would have to book the day it came out.

When my reading went to a whole new level.

The Diviners

Summary:

What can I say about The Diviners? This is a really hard review for me to write. I'll just get it out there though... overall, I was disappointed. The book really wasn't what I thought it was going to be and I really just wanted MORE from it.

With that being said, I can see what Bray was doing here. She was building depth, a backbone; some would say. I can respect that. Had I have not read The Gemma Doyle Trilogy though, had this been my 1st experience with Libba Bray's writing, I most likely would not continue on with this series. HOWEVER. I know her writing and I know how good she is at writing paranormal historical fiction fantasy. So, I will give this series a chance. I just wish it lived up to all the hype I had given it in my head.

In My Mailbox (50)

Wow! This is my 50th IMM! Sorry, That I do not have anything special to share for this post, but I did get two books this week!

Book 1
Is The Special Edition Fault In Our Stars By John Green.
If You are Saying to yourself.. "but Kelsey, didn't you get TFIOS for Christmas?"
My Answer To You Would Be. "Why Yes, Yes I Did!"
However, The cover was a little damaged and well frankly it is a SPECIAL EDITION TFIOS!
Thankfully, since I am a poor 23 year old. I have a mother who likes to feed my addiction to books and after I cleverly put this book with another book my mom was picking it, she bought it for me = )

Book 2
Awhile ago I had requested One Pink Line on NetGalley and was accepted. However, when I went to read it, the text was all jumbled.. so the book was a DNF for me. Then I see I have a message on Goodreads from the author. She was disappointed with my attempt to read the book through Netgalley and asked if I would still like to review the book, than sent me an ebook version of it!

Catching Fire (Hunger Game #2)

Summary:

Plot: Suzanne Collins did a great job in writing a second book to The Hunger Games (which I only thought was alright). She addressed some realistic issues and delivered great plot twists. She also, did a good job at separating Part One and Two, but making a smooth connection. All while making a great transition to book three.

Characters: Honestly, I originally thought Katniss was a tad bit annoying in book one and that Peeta or Gale weren't really engaging characters. However, in Catching Fire Katniss becomes more likeable and tolerable and as you may have seen, Peeta has become a little crush of mine through book two. Haymitch grew on me majorly and Team Gale Who?! Really i don't understand.

Final Thoughts: I enjoyed Catching Fire, SO MUCH more than The Hunger Games. I don't know why there was just something about it that made me really like it. The writing seemed to be stronger and had a little more pep in the step. It could also be that I am not a huge dystopian fan in general, and Catching Fire wasn't outright dystopian. I am also glad, I didn't watch any trailers for the movie and basically avoided anything that could potentially ruin the book for me. Since it made me way more emotionally invested. At one point I even said outloud "See! This Is Why I HATE The Capital!"
