Ahh! This Topic seems, so easy but yet it is SO hard and really cannot be limited to just 10.

The GREAT, Great Gatsby Post

So on May 10th. Warner Brothers Finally Releases The HIGHLY Anticipated Great Gatsby Movie! In General, The Great Gatsby is already a pretty popular book, being deemed a Classic and written F.Scott Fitzgerald. However, with this movie coming out I imagine The Great Gatsby is going to gain even more popularity, especially with the younger crowd. So, this post is my attempt at a one stop shop for EVERYTHING Gatsby!

First Off Is The Book Itself. I personally enjoyed it and find it to be timeless and well worth earning the title of  A Classic and with ANY Book, there will be some people who do not like the book either. So, Here is some reviews from fellow bloggers. Both good and bad.

There are A LOT of cool things about The Great Gatsby but one of my favorites is John Green's Crash Course explanation of the books. I am not an overly critical reader, so when I watched Crash Course it really gave me an even better perspective of the book.

When the casting was first announced for The Great Gatsby. I was personally elated, mainly because everyone they cast (minus Tom Buchanan) was who I had imagined in the roles while reading them. Since seeing more of Joel Edgerton's work (he is currently a favorite actor of mine) and seeing him act in the trailers, I can now say he is a great choice. I am imagine someone like Ben Affleck or the guy who played the bad guy in Titanic in the role. Regardless, I am excited.

The Great Gatsby has been around for 88 years and in those eighty-eight years has gone through many different covers.

Paper Towns

Summary:

I am OBSESSED with this book! I started reading Paper Towns on my last night in Vegas and instead of going out and enjoying the city, I was sucked into this book and couldn't leave. I could relate to Paper Towns and its characters in so many different ways it was ridiculous. This was my anthem.  John Green writing was just beyond amazing and I personally loved this book more than I loved TFIOS. Which says a lot since I have two copies of it. I will say the ending is a little frustrating, but it is a beautiful story.

Wow! This is my 50th IMM! Sorry, That I do not have anything special to share for this post, but I did get two books this week!

Book 1 
Is The Special Edition Fault In Our Stars By John Green.
If You are Saying to yourself.. "but Kelsey, didn't you get TFIOS for Christmas?"
My Answer To You Would Be.  "Why Yes, Yes I Did!"
However,  The cover was a little damaged and well frankly it is a SPECIAL EDITION TFIOS!
Thankfully, since I am a poor 23 year old. I have a mother who likes to feed my addiction to books and after I cleverly put this book with another book my mom was picking it, she bought it for me = )

Book 2
Awhile ago I had requested One Pink Line on NetGalley and was accepted. However, when I went to read it, the text was all jumbled.. so the book was a DNF for me. Then I see I have a message on Goodreads from the author. She was disappointed with my attempt to read the book through Netgalley and asked if I would still like to review the book, than sent me an ebook version of it!

An Abundance of Katherine's

Summary:

Plot: The plot is kind of slow and definitely a coming of age, discovering ones self type of story. Personally, I didn't enjoy the separations between the Katherines and Gutshot. I expected  the Katherine's to really play a bigger roll, but knowing John Green's writing.. I understand it too.

Characters: Colin is almost the perfect awkward leading man. Cause he is odd, yet mildly attractive... then there is Hassan who is funny and quirky, but almost annoyed me at times. However, my favorite character was Lindsey. She reminded me of myself and I liked that.

Pros: Unique and very John Green

Cons: almost a misleading title. slow.

Final Thoughts:  I liked An Abundance of Katherine's but didn't love it, maybe that was my fault though for putting SO much expectation the book. That is all I can really say about the book.

I don't really want to do my normal format for this review and honestly, I am too lazy to do a VLog Review.
It is hard for me to say how I feel about Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Cause there is apart of me that thinks "WOW! that is awesome" and then there is apart of me who thinks "That is it..?" Look, I get the point of Will Grayson, Will Grayson, and it wasn't the book I thought it would be. The way they told the story, and making it about coming of age, and accepting yourself without being the typical kind was really well done.

However, There was a part of me,who saw all this coming. I wasn't surprised by the way the book turned out or where it was going. Which is what disappointed to me, I wanted something more from the story. Also, Fair warning this book is also pretty explicit. Which didn't bother me, as much as it caught me off guard. Although the constant use of "bitchsquealer" annoyed me.

The Fault in Our Stars

Summary:

"Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 12, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now. 
Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault. 
Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind."

Plot: This book isn't really about Cancer. I mean it is, but it really isn't. What makes the plot different is that, although sad, it isn't sappy. This isn't Nicholas Sparks or Jodi Picoult (authors I do enjoy as well) we mean a different kind of cancer patient. Ones we don't know read about and well I like it.

Characters: What can I Say? I like Hazel and I like Augustus. They show you how two different people are coping with Cancer. Someone who wants to die with a legacy and the other happy with just being. I enjoyed Issac who brought another level of humor and sympathy to the book. Besides Peter Van Houten, the cast is very likeable and realistic.

Pros: You won't read another book with Cancer in it, written as well as this, It makes you think, it isn't really simple.

Cons: No Cons Per-Say Although I personally could have done w/o Peter Van Houten.. However, he is an extremely essential layer to the book.

Final Thoughts: I expected to cry my eyes out, but I didn't. I did cry, just not as much as I was prepared too, I think that is because I identified with Hazel and kind of accepted the outcome. And oddly, when it comes to The Fault In Our Stars I am pretty speechless. The book is beautifully written and John Green's humor does come through. The Story Inside a Story is gorgeous. I just enjoyed the layers of the book.

Ok, I will admit I have never read a book by John Green. Yet I have heard a lot of how AMAZING he is and since this is the most recent book of his that everyone has been raving about.. I thought why not?
