Witchfall like Witchstruck leaves me wanting more. I want more of the story and maybe something else... I don't know what I can't put my finger on it but just more. We have more magic and magical obstacles in Witchfall, as well as the terror of the Inquisition in town. Meg has grown as a character she is becoming more confident as a person but less so as a witch and we watch her struggle with being very powerful and common country witch.

Her relationship with Elizabeth is more strained and in a lot of ways more realistic for the era in Witchfall. As far as Alejendro goes.. I like him as a character but I am still not convinced of his and Meg's relationship. I personally feel no connection between them. I most definitely "ship" her and Richard though... he is Master Dee's apprentice.

Overall my feelings about Witchfall are quite Neutral. It was a great middle book and like most middle books in a series, they are more of a transition book than overly exciting. There was lots of drama and action, but nothing that wasn't strongly foreshadowed while reading. I definitely anticipate Book 3 to be craziness though. For those who haven't read the trilogy, I recommend you do since it is a nice blend of witchcraft and history.

Book Blogger Depression and BEA

If you follow me on twitter than you may already know that I have been having a book blogger bout of depression.  This is a whole different kind of depression, because this isn't me being sad about not blogging a lot.

I guess you could say this depression is spurred from jealousy. As a blogger I have been jealous before but not like this. Usually, I am "oh you are So lucky!" jealous. But today, I am "why not me?" jealous.
Does that make sense? As bloggers, we all have moments where we look at our stats and our followers and how many ARC's do we have and what publishers are sending us books.. etc. and we compare.
(Side Note: I am not speaking about people who solely get into book blogging for those reason, if you are then you are not blogging for the right reasons) We all compare at some point. We just do and normally, I compare and remind myself that we are all on our own paths and that those things don't matter (because in life terms they don't).

However, today it hit me. Today this weird depression, jealousy bug hit me and I can't shake it. I have been book blogger for 4 years and in general I feel like I have nothing significant to show for it. Please, Please Please don't take this as I am greedy or ungrateful because I am not. I love doing this and when I started, I started with the idea that nobody was reading my blog. However, now that I take the time and effort to put into my blogs, I want to know that it is worth SOMETHING. My blog hasn't grown a lot and the comments are sparse unless it is Top Ten Tuesday or IMM. So, like I said it makes me question the effort I put in. I haven't made any "real" book blogger friends. There are people I talk to occasionally, but nobody that I feel would invite me to hang out if I was in town. So, I am depressed.

The other thing that depressed me, was the realization that I have been a blogger for 4 years and have yet to go to ALA or BEA!  I know, I am not the only blogger with this problem. I just feel like I say every year that "oh I will go next year" but I don't and a lot of this has to do with the fact that I am in the middle of building a company with my Mom. So, my pay goes towards bills and food.. not enough to save up for BEA. I know I am blessed and have been lucky to do many things and that there are so many other things to be sad about. Today though I am sad, because I feel invisible. Does that make sense... I just feel like my blog is insignificant and that if I decided to stop blogging. No one would care.

With that being said... I decided to try GoFundMe for a trip to BEA this year. Hell, I know it probably won't happen... but I though to myself why not try? Why not see if I could make this happen...

I have been on Youtube with my The Lost Book Reports channel for awhile now and have started to do more videos. However... I have just discovered that the book community calls it BookTube!

With that being said.. I want to subscribe to more Booktubers. Who else is on youtube and what channels do you recommend?!

Top Ten Tuesday: Turn-offs

here.

1. Political Slamming

Esp. when it is not essential to the books plot line. This instantly puts me in a foul mood.

2. Animal or Elderly Cruelty

It makes me SO unbelievably sad and angered and when it is in a book I can't handle it

3. No Love Connection

Not necessarily instalove, but when characters are forced to be together.. yet I don't feel the love and chemistry between them. How am I suppose to believe in it then?

4. Bad Covers

Superficial? Yes. But Ugly cover... chances are I won't read your book. Unless recommended to me.

5. When a Series Is Repetitive

And what I mean by that is, when I begin to read a book and you CONTINUOUSLY refresh me on what happened in the previous book. A little reminder is okay.. a summaries worth.. not so much! I am looking at you Richelle Mead! (although, I still love her books)

6. Quick Endings

Meaning.. I have read and received a lot of information, I am loving it and fully absorbed in the story, but I want answers too. Low and behold there is 20 pages left to the ending... and I think "no... please don't do this to me" and they do! They wrap up the past 250 pages of greatness into 20 pages and leave me fuming mad!

7. Predictability

Really, how annoying is it when you can see exactly where the plot line is going.

8. Overly Forgiving Characters!

This drives me bonkers! When there is a shitty friend and they get in a fight or whatever and then two pages later they have made up! No, that person sucks! DITCH THEM! Ala Mia and Lily. 

9. Blow-ups over Nothing

I hate hate hate when a character makes a mistake or there is a misunderstanding and the other characters. the presumed victim. Gets all judgy and doesn't listen and creates this big fight over something usually not THAT important. 

10. Vulgarity

Look, I can be vulgar, I can have a naughty sense of humor... but sometimes it is too much, like there is trying to be a shock factor. Especially, when the book is YA. Nope, I don't wanted to read about "fucking a guy and making him cum" consistently. I didn't even like typing that on here. This reason and reason #1 are why i stopped reading The Jessica Darling series. It just makes me cringe!
