Anna and the French Kiss

Summary:
"Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris - until she meets Etienne St. Clair: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.
As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near - misses end with the French kiss Anna - and readers - have long awaited?"
Plot: The plot is the typical Boy Meets Girl, fall in love drama, but a realistic take on it and with no insta-love!

Characters: I liked Anna a lot and could relate to her in many ways, as well as I could relate to St.Clair a lot in many ways. And I was surprised for a character who isn't really there, how much I disliked Ellen.

Pros: A perfect Young Adult Romance, set in Paris. Fluffy, Cute, Funny and Realistic.

Cons: The only Con is that is wasn't (in my opinion) as great as everyone has said.

Final Thoughts: I liked this book, I really did. But I totally psyched myself into thinking this book would be the best book on the planet. I think a weird problem that can happen when a book is highly praised. The book was good, I would recommend it to a general group of people, but I am not gushing over it. Although, I did find myself having such a hard time putting it down and the book has memorable one liners. I just couldn't completely connect with the book. One thing I really liked about this book, was that I wasn't questioning whether or not it was appropriate to give to my younger cousin. Which isn't a bad thing in some books that are not, I just like that this book was more mature, but still young. Does that make sense?

  1. SHame you were a bit disappointed, glad you still enjoyed it though. I'm guilty of possibly overpraising this book - but I just love it so much!

  2. I'm sorry to hear that you that book didn't live up to expectations for you, especially since I was so surprised that it did for me. But I do now what you mean about the book feeling "older." It was hard to believe Anna and her friends were only high schoolers and I think in some ways it would have worked better with college students.
