Top Ten Tuesday: Movie Adaptions

Hosted By The Broke and The Bookish

Book to Movie Adaptions happen a lot and I am going to be honest with you, I have seen A LOT of book to movie adaptions, without knowing it was a book first, or without ever reading the book after. Leading to me actually not having a lot to compare too. But I will try my best...

1. Any Nicholas Sparks Movie
Face it, they are cheesy but they are good, not always accurate, but accurate enough.

2. The Princess Diaries
The books and movies are not real at all the same and Cabot even pokes fun at them in her later Princess Dairies books. However, I still enjoyed watching Anne Hathaway and Julie Andrews as Mia and Grandmere.

3. Baz Lurhmans The Great Gatsby
I feel this may be a controversial pick. Honestly, I HATED the first half of the movie. Although, it was very Baz Lurhman's style it was just TOO over the top and TOO much rap music to justify. However, I found the 2nd half of the movie to be beautiful and emotional. I even cried and for that, I had to add it to the list.

4. The Hunger Games
I think they did a good job at following the plot pretty darn close and adding a little extra that only enhanced the story, instead of hindering it.

5. The Harry Potter Series
Really they did such a great job and making the world we imagined in our minds to life.

6. Anne of Green Gables
I believe this was a TV Movies Series and I cannot really remember the similarities or difference between the two but I do remember I enjoyed both!

  1. Love your list! I haven't seen the new Gatsby movie and probably won't since I'm not a big fan of the book, but I'm glad you liked it. And can't agree enough about Harry Potter and the Hunger Games.
